The Sales Page vs The Sales funnel: Which is Right For You?
Do you want one page or the whole funnel? When should you use a sales page and when should you use a sales funnel? The answer is that it depends on what your goal is. You can often generate more money with the same amount of traffic by using a sales funnel, but in some cases, people might not be ready to buy or you simply have just one product for sale.
Aren’t sales pages and sales funnel the same thing?
Yes and no. A sales page is generally a single web page that sells or promotes something. Once you press buy, your customers pay and they are done. A sales funnel, on the other hand, is usually made up of multiple sales pages and has upsells and downsells which in itself are sort of condensed sales pages. It uses logic to know what offer to show or not show, and someone does not need to put in their payment details twice.
I have just one product, do I need a funnel?
You could say a simple page and checkout is enough. Normally, when using simply WooCommerce for your shop on its own, it does not give the user a great optimized experience. You can’t customize the checkout page with testimonials and a summary which can definitely help people to stay on track and actually buy! But, if you just getting started, this is a great place to start!
What can a funnel do that’s different?
Glad you asked :). A more customized funnel can have upsells and downsells, and also an extra order bump. This is great because you can offer more products to your customers without worrying about them being in the cart and having a chance to remove it. If they don’t buy an order bump, upsell or downsell, then there’s no chance of losing money! They did buy your starting product.
How can I create this funnel thing?
There are multiple ways, or actually systems, that can help you set up your funnel. The most known ones are ClickFunnels and Leadpages, and more are coming regularly. You pay a monthly fee and they give you page builders to actually build your pages and take care of the payments.
But, if you’re not looking for a monthly fee and want something free to use, you can simply set up a funnel on your own website. You can do this with the help of an extra plugin like CartFlows or WooFunnels. I personally use CartFlows for this! It works great with Beaver Builder which I use and the Pro version gives you options like order bump and upsells and downsells. You can make an amazing funnel without a monthly fee! I do recommend paying a yearly fee to update the plugins, but even if you choose not to, it will still be working.
Once you have your funnel or single sales page, then all you need to do is start marketing it!
