Where to Host Your Sales Funnel: Advantages, Disadvantages, and Costs

Hosting your sales funnel is an important decision to make for any business. With so many options available, it can be difficult to know what the best choice is. This blog post will give you a rundown of all the advantages and disadvantages of each option as well as their associated costs in order to help you decide where to host your sales funnel!

There are options…

Since you came to my little piece of space on the internet, I assume you know about ClickFunnels, Leadpages, and those kinds of tools. I assume you also agree that they can do very nice and fun things for your business :). However, not many know you don’t actually NEED these expensive tools to create a funnel. I will give you a few possible options on where you can host your funnel.

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels is very well known. They are GREAT at marketing themselves. The complete tool is build because someone had an online marketing dream. Their lowest-priced tier is $97 a month, which is a great place to start for most. You can have up to 20 funnels, 100 pages, and you can take payments.

Is ClickFunnels friendly for beginners or someone with little technical skills? It might feel overwhelming to start with, but with all the help guides online, you will be able to figure it out, even if it simply takes a bit longer.

What happens when you stop paying that monthly fee? Well, your funnel goes down. No more sales, no more leads, it will all be gone. You have put all that time and maybe some money for someone to actually implement it, but that doesn’t matter. These pages are not actually YOURS. They are of ClickFunnels. This to me is the biggest disadvantage.

Leadpages

Leadpages also had a lot of followers. It’sseen more as the lead generator and maybe not specifically for actual sales, even though you can with the higher paid plan. At $59 a month, you can start taking payments.

The difference between LeadPages and ClickFunnels that with LeadPages you cannot create one-click upsells and downsells. They would have to enter their payment details all over again. If you just sell one thing, no added products, LeadPages might be good enough for you.

WordPress

Now, this is a way of creating sales funnels that not all know is possible. You can simply build a funnel on your own WordPress website. The best part is that you can do this for free if you’re willing to put in the time.

It’s a little bit more complicated than ClickFunnels and LeadPages but it will cost absolutely nothing if you keep it simple. You’ll need WordPress which you probably already use for your website as most do. Add a few free plugins and you are set. If you want to add easy upsells like ClickFunnels, then you do need to start paying. With CartFlows this is only $209 a year, which is nothing compared to ClickFunnels pricing. Also, if you decide to not renew your license with them, you keep the latest version you had and your funnel keeps on working and making you money.

What to choose

As you might have noticed, I’m a fan of hosting everything that belongs to your business on my own website ;). I love the fact that something I create or paid for is actually mine forever. Also, if you don’t go for the higher-priced tier at ClickFunnel for $297 a month which would include e-mail list building and such, it’s in my opinion simply not worth the difference.

If you agree with WordPress being the right place for your sales funnel and would love to set up your funnel on your own website or move it away from ClickFunnels, I would love to help you get it done. Simply book a call with me to discuss what you need and get it done, soon!
